BEE-AWARE
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there are more than 1.2 million people in the U.S., 13 years of age and older, living with HIV and 1 in 7 people (14%) are unaware they are infected.
Let’s Beehive!® offers a program called “BeeAWARE” where they participate in educating the community about HIV/AIDS during National Awareness Days, with an emphasis on populations known to be disproportionately affected with this disease. The goal of this program is to increase one’s knowledge about HIV/AIDS, reduce stigma, and improve the number of people who know their HIV status.
